Ngarai Sianok

Ngarai Sianok maybe the most fantastic destination in West Sumatra. It is a great gorge, spanning about 15 km from Ngarai Koto Gadang to Palupuh. With 100 m depth, it is a part of Semangko fault. Ngarai Sianok is really presenting a spectacular panorama.

In this green lush gorge, buffaloes is grassing and Sianok River is flowing. We can follow this river by canoe, from Desa Lambah to Desa Sitingkai, about 3.5 hours. At the bank of the river we can see, if we're lucky enough, rafflesia flower and various kind of animals: monkeys, siamang, deer, even leopard.
