Situ Gunung

On the slope of Mount Pangrango, we can find a small tranquil lake called Situ Gunung. A legend said that the lake was built by a father for his son. Its area is about 120 ha and it is located about 900 m above sea level. At the bank of the lake, we can enjoy the silent water, the fresh atmosphere, and the song of birds, especially manuk uncuing (plaintive cuckoo). We can also enjoy the damar forest that surround the lake. We can see some lutung and surili (a kind of black monkey), squirrel, lizard, etc. Near the lake, we can find a park, camping ground, and jogging track.
