Pondok Halimun

Pondok Halimun is a camping ground north of Sukabumi town. Just before reach this area, we can see the strawberry fields and Goalpara tea plantation. Near the camping ground, there are many stalls where we can enjoy some food in the cool atmosphere. We can also enjoy the fresh water in the river below.

In this area, we can see some rare primates (owa jawa, surili, lutung) playing on the trees. But the main attraction of this place is the javan eagle (elang jawa, Spizaetus bartelsii), a very rare endemic bird. So gaze upward to the sky and witness the majestic birds soaring high ...
