Keukenhof

Keukenhof means kitchen garden. The present Keukenhof Park started in 1840 and was initially designed by horticultural architects Zochter. In 1949, Mayor of Lisse Mr. Lambooy developed the idea for an open-air flower exhibition and started the flower garden of Keukenhof of today. Here We can enjoy walking in the 32-hectare park, in which seven million bulbs are planted. There are several pavilions containing seasonal flower exhibitions: tulips, chrysanthemums, roses, orchids, begonias, lilies etc. Works of art are spread out throughout the gardens, including bronze statues by various artists represented by Smelik & Stokking Galleries. There are also children's attractions such as an animal enclosure and a play area.
