Netherlands
Netherlands is famous for its traditional windmills,
tulips, and cheese. It is also known for its clogs (wooden shoes),
delftware, gouda pottery, bicycles, and its classic social tolerance.
It is also the place of creative and philosophical fields, where
Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Erasmushave found their muse and intellectual
stimulation
Netherlands is dominated by water features. The country is criss-crossed
with rivers, canals and dikes, and the beach is never far away.
It is divided into two main parts by three large rivers, the Rhine
(Rijn) and its main distributary Waal, as well as the Meuse (Maas).
Much of the country is flat and at or below sea level making it
an ideal place to cycle. Much of countryside is dominated by highly
industrialised farming.
